Hurricane Sandy just slammed into the East coast last night. In turn, many people are without shelter, have ruined homes, and thousands don't have electricity today. A good portion of my family lives out East. They live in the areas of Boston, Massachusetts, and various areas in Connecticut. Needless to say, our family has been praying for everyone involved with the storm and have been getting updates from family members about how they are doing. They all don't have power, but fortunately that is the worst of it for them (unlike some of their neighbors and friends). Who knows how long it will take for power to come back on, but numerous hardworking people are attempting to repair the electricity today. My Aunt from Connecticut even was telling us how in the middle of the night there was a parade of electricians going down the streets.
Everything is flooded, and I am sure many of you have been watching the news stations to get updates from the East coast. The news stations have images of the NYC subways being completely flooded and pictures of water streaming over cars on parked on the roads (it looks like some of the cars are swimming). In some places individuals had to evacuate to get to safer grounds. However, through all the mess and water damage (that is everywhere) there are numerous individuals who are earnestly work hard to put everything back together again.
I always find it incredible how people get after a storm of any kind. So willing to help out and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. I think it is a beautiful thing; beautiful people. When the hard times come people come together and get done everything that needs to get done to put everything back to how it was. Through the fear storms bring, to the messes they leave behind, it is always good to see that there are still good people that shine through the chaos in the end. So go out and do good!!
